The last outing of our tide & turf season promises an evening packed full of great food featuring some big names but also some of the newest artisan food producers of Ards & North Down.
It’s all back to Bangor with a local food showcase dinner at The Salty Dog to bid farewell to our Tide & Turf tour of the season. This is a fitting end to proceedings given this boutique hotel, located in the very heart of the Bangor’s ‘culinary quarter’, commands fantastic views across Bangor Bay and Belfast Lough. Be in no doubt, County Down’s seafood is in the very DNA of The Salty Dog Bistro.
This final local food showcase and meet the maker event of 2021 is the most comprehensive celebration of all that defines the quality and range of local food and drink in and around Bangor and across the wider Ards & North Down area. Chef Tim Brunton has an eye for spotting new artisan food producers so expect to some new names feature alongside the more familiar local success stories.
Producers featured here are: Superior Oceans (Portavogie), Clandeboye Estate, Morning Glory, North Down Beef, Knead and Prove and Spore Shore.

With regards to food allergies, intolerances and specific dietary requirements, customers are advised to speak to a member of staff at the host venue for the specific foodie experience that you are interested in for more information. Ideally this should be done before purchasing tickets, or for ticket holders at least 48 hours before the event.
We want to ensure all experiences operate to the safety of customers and staff and as such all regulations surrounding covid as per NI Executive direction must be adhered to at the date and time of the experience regarding indoor dining venues. It is imperative that if you have any symptoms of Covid19, have tested positive for Covid19, or have been in recent contact with anyone who has tested positive, you do not attend the experience.
Help us to stop the spread of Covid-19. Regular rapid lateral flow testing is strongly recommended prior to attending this event.
Please note that we will be constantly monitoring and reviewing these guidelines, and will adapt them if we feel it is necessary – or if we are required to do so by law.
No refunds or exchanges.
All experiences are on a ticket only basis. Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded or exchanged unless an experience is cancelled by the organiser (e.g. in the case of extreme weather). Where possible, all participants will be informed by telephone and refunds will be made by cheque (for cash and cheque payments) and by card (for debit or credit card payments). Refund cheques will normally be posted within ten working days of the original event date.
The management reserves the right to:
1. Refuse admission to the ticket holder to the premises
2. No latecomers admitted unless there is an interval in the performance / event
3. Cancel or abandon the performance / event for reasons beyond its control without notice and without being liable to pay any person compensation or damage whatsoever other than,
at the Management's discretion, a possible percentage or maximum refund to the ticket holder of the value of the ticket.
4. Refuse entry or and use on the premises of any camera or any form of audio or visual recording equipment
We are thrilled to bring you this programme of experiences celebrating all that is best about food in Ards and North Down.
To allow for the experience to be as best as possible for all, under current restrictions, the following is necessary with regards to ticket sales.
We are operating a bubble system. You will be able to buy a bubble that will hold up to a maximum of two people. Unfortunately, we cannot change the size of the bubbles and the price per bubble is fixed.
Bubble locations will be allocated by the venue you are attending. If you book more than one bubble (for example on behalf of someone else), please be advised that your separate bubbles may not be located together.
When booking a bubble, you must include all individuals in your bubble, it is not possible to book additional tickets to add to your bubble or bring more people than you have booked a bubble for.
Due to social distancing and safety requirements, you must stay in your bubble for the duration of the experience. You must not move between bubbles.
