Caravan and Camping in Ards and North Down
Overnight stays are not permitted on any Council site, including the Commons in Donaghadee.
There are a number of commercially operated caravan parks within Ards and North Down, no public caravan parks are run by the Council. These cater for static and touring caravans and motorhomes. General opening times and contact details are below.
Motorhome Service Point
There is a motorhome service point at the Commons, Donaghadee, BT21 OHZ. Tel: 028 9188 4774, For battery charging, disposal of waste water and taking on fresh water. Please note that overnight stays on this site are prohibited however motorhomes can stay at many of the private caravan parks in the borough.
The site has the provision for the disposal facility for wastewater; electricity and water facility.
Tokens are available from:
- Ards Visitor Information Centre, 31 Regent Street, Newtownards BT23 4AD (Beside the Bus Station)
- Bangor Visitor Information Centre, 5 Quay Street, Bangor BT20 5ED (Nr the Pier)
- The pavilion on site (open April to September only, during daylight hours).
- Pier 36 Bar & Restaurant, 36 The Parade, Donaghadee BT21 OHE - Open 11am -11pm
Cost: Tokens £2 each - 1 token buys 1 kw hour of electricity, 100 litres of water and toilet /waste water disposal.
NB: We cannot guarantee that tokens can be used elsewhere.
Please note this is a facility only for the charging of batteries, disposal of waste water and taking on fresh water, overnight sleeping/camping is prohibited.
