A Summer Solstice escape and a great Father’s Day gift!

Immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings of Strangford Lough on board the St Brendan, celebrating the Summer Solstice. Cruise between the islands and inlets of this area of outstanding beauty while being entertained by stories of pagan folklore and enjoy traditional Irish music by Clanreagh, as you celebrate midsummer, on this the longest day of the year.

You will be sure to have a healthy appetite after your cruise, so why not make a day of it and enjoy dinner in one of the inviting restaurants in Portaferry or the surrounding area? 


Things to note
No concessions.

Under 18 years must pay for a ticket and be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.

Minimum age 4 years old.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the boat trip.

The St Brendan does not have toilet facilities onboard. The nearest public toilet is a kiosk located near Exploris Aquarium.

The boat is not wheelchair accessible.

Tickets close 24 hours before.


Getting there
By car:
  From Belfast follow the A20 to Newtownards.  Follow the A20 along Kempe Stones Road to Newtownards.  At the roundabout take the 3rd exit along Blair Mayne Road South.  Take exits towards the Portaferry Road. Continue along the Portaferry Road for approx. 20 miles following the road signs towards Portaferry.  Continue through Portaferry Town, turn right onto Shore Road. The harbour is located on the Shore Road, Portaferry, BT22 1JZ. Parking available at the Rope Walk car park near Exploris Aquarium.

By car or by foot via the Strangford Ferry that services between Strangford and Portaferry.

By bus: See Translink website for bus departure and arrival times.
