About

As the name suggests, Flax cottage combines the rustic feel of the farmhouse with the comfort afforded by deluxe furnishings.

Modern features such as free Wi Fi, digital satellite tv, video and mobile phone are available for those who want to keep in touch with the 21st Century. Downstairs is an open plan living dining area with hand made maple kitchen, stone floor and wood burning stove. Reclaimed pine has been used throughout to preserve as much of the old farm buildings as possible.

As well as our 5 farm trails,we have a Bird hide, Badger hide and a panoramic viewing platform. The view takes in Scotland, Isle of Man, Mourne Mountains and lots more in-between.

We have recently stocked our own private lake so guests can go fishing.

Flax is one of a group of 7 cottages that can accommodate parties of up to 34 people.

In 2015 Barnwell Farm Cottages were awarded a Gold Award in the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
