Celebrate 250 Years of American Independence at the Livingston Centre
Step into a fascinating chapter of history as we mark the 250th Anniversary of United States Independence with a special exhibition at the Livingston Centre.
Running from 29 June to 24 July, the exhibition is open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am – 4.00pm, and admission is completely free.
Discover the remarkable contribution of the Livingston family to the founding of the United States. Learn how Robert R. Livingston served on the Committee of Five that drafted the Declaration of Independence, how Philip Livingston became one of its signatories, and how William Livingston later signed the United States Constitution.
The exhibition also tells the story of Janet Livingston Montgomery, whose husband, General Richard Montgomery, became one of the first American heroes of the Revolution when he was killed during the invasion of Canada.
Through compelling stories, historical connections, and unique insights, this exhibition explores how one family helped shape the birth of a nation.
After your visit, relax and enjoy refreshments in the Livingston Centre Coffee Shop.
