About
This exhibition celebrates over 100 years of the Ulster Automobile Club.
This organisation was an important and influential force in the establishment of motor racing as a sport. These early pioneers sought to make a newly formed Northern Ireland a mecca for motoring and organised some of the most iconic racing events in our history. Visit the museum to learn more about this fascinating but often overlooked part of Northern Irish history.
Explore the characters who drove this movement and how Bangor, Newtownards and Donaghadee were the focus of these early races which attracted many famous people in early 20th century society. This exhibition will display an array of artefacts that explore the fascinating origins of motor racing including programmes, photographs and various other items of racing memorabilia.
