Sound Spa Experience

Ballydrain Road, Comber, County Down, BT23 6EA
Gongs at The Sound Spa Studio

About

This event is organised by and was submitted by The Sound Healing Spa

Step away from the pace of everyday life and into the calm, cocoon-like environment of The Sound Spa, situated beside WWT Castle Espie near the shores of Strangford Lough.

Guided by sound artist and immersive experience creator Tessa Ann, this intimate studio experience is limited to just eight participants, creating space to slow down, listen, reflect and connect through sound within a calm and supportive environment.

Part of The Place to BE collection, the experience explores the relationship between sound, listening and environment through an immersive combination of sound and stillness.

Selected experiences also take place around seasonal moments including the Full Moon and New Moon, creating an opportunity to pause, settle and make space for reflection.

The Experience

Settle into the studio and allow yourself time to rest and become immersed in sound.

Tessa uses a range of instruments including Tibetan singing bowls, crystal singing bowls, drum and subtle percussion to create a layered and evolving sound environment.

Often described as a sound bath, there is no water involved. Instead, participants are immersed in sound while resting comfortably within the studio.

With minimal spoken guidance, you are invited to experience the sounds and space in your own way, allowing periods of sound, listening and stillness to unfold naturally.

Many people experience a sense of relaxation, restoration and wellbeing, while also discovering new ways of listening, reflecting and connecting with themselves and the environment around them.

The experience may be enjoyed lying comfortably on a mat or seated in a chair, depending on individual comfort and accessibility needs.

What to Bring

Mats are provided at the studio.
Please bring:
* A Pillow
* A Blanket

* Comfortable Clothing

Accessibility

The experience can be enjoyed either lying on a mat or seated in a chair.

If you have accessibility requirements, health conditions or injuries, or would prefer a chair, please contact Tessa Ann in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be discussed.

The pace of the experience is intentionally calm and spacious, allowing participants to settle comfortably into the environment.

If you are sensitive to sound, you are welcome to bring earplugs or anything additional that may support your comfort during the experience.
This experience may not be suitable during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Sustainability

Part of The Place to BE collection, the Sound Spa Experience embraces a place-based approach, encouraging deeper engagement with sound, self and environment through the thoughtful use of existing spaces.

The small group size and slower pace support a spacious and considered approach to immersive experience design, valuing depth of experience over scale.

About Tessa Ann

Tessa Ann is a sound artist and immersive experience creator based in Northern Ireland.

She is the founder of The Sound Healing Spa, creator of The Place to BE collection and developer of Sound Space Connect®, a framework exploring the relationship between sound, space, environment and human experience.

Through place-based experiences in environments including caves, planetariums, woodlands and heritage spaces, Tessa explores how sound, listening and atmosphere can shape the way people feel, perceive and connect within a space.

Her work brings together sound, environment and sensory awareness to create immersive experiences that are both accessible and deeply experiential.
