Portaferry Plein Air Painting Festival

Market House, The square, Portaferry, County Down, BT22 1LR
Plein Air Festival Portaferry

About

Portaferry Art Society welcome you to three days of outdoor painting at the 4th annual Portaferry Plein Air Painting Festival, bring your paints and brushes and enjoy fun-packed weekend of art and culture from 29 May until 1 June 2025.

Three professional Plein Air Artists, Nicki Heenan, Sorrel Wills and Neal Grieg will be providing demonstrations and optional workshops each day of the festival, where you will find 30 or more artists on the streets of Portaferry.

Visit for the day to watch artists paint the beautiful landscapes in this area of Outstanding Natural Beauty or why not stay longer?

As well as the painting we have lots more to enjoy. Thursday evening launches the event with a history tour of Portaferry, followed by a light supper at the market house accompanied by 'The Selkies' singing sea shanties. The Irish folk band 'The Kilkennys' will be playing in the Portico of Ards on Friday evening and Saturday evening gives the opportunity to relax aboard the St Brendan, where you will be wined and serenaded by the local trad Irish folk band.

The warmest of welcomes awaits you!

This event is Grant Aided by Ards and North Down Borough Council's Tourism Department.
