Part of the Taste Summer in Ards and North Down 2026 programme

Canoe Bushcraft is a canoeing & survival skills experience. Learn the basics of canoeing before undertaking a journey to a remote island to practice some survival skills.

Our instructors will provide you with all the necessary equipment before undertaking a journey by canoe to a remote forested island on Strangford Lough.

On arrival you will trek through the forest to a clearing where you will learn different firelighting techniques, how to build shelters (natural & man made). Enjoy some hot chocolate & s'mores over the fire before paddling back to base.

Dietary requirements

Please ensure that you check with all members of your party regarding food allergies, intolerances, and dietary requirements prior to booking tickets. It is the responsibility of the ticketholder to inform a member of staff at the host venue about food allergies, intolerances and specific dietary requirements.  This must be done at least 72 hours before the experience, but preferably at the time of booking, by contacting Strangford Lough Activity Centre direct on 07909 721 898 or email strangfordloughactivitycentre@hotmail.co.uk.
