Ward Park has been an open air venue for concerts for a long time.

Some of the best shows there have featured such major names as Eminem, Snow Patrol, Jimmy Eat World, Kaiser Chiefs.

Ward Park has hosted several Tennants Vital / Belfast Vital concerts, which have brought together major artists for an exclusive concert experience in NI. This annual concert has featured bands such a: The Foo Fighters, Maroon 5, Kings of Leon, Faithless, Justice, Kasabian, The Killers, The Script, Ellie Goulding, Avicii, David Guetta, Bastille, Robin Schulz, Calvin Harris, Fall Out Boy, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Clean Bandit, Muse, Biffy Clyro and so many more!

In 2010 Snow Patrol played in Ward Park to over 40,000 people!


What is Ward Park?

Ward Park is a Victorian era park which covers an area of 37 acres, amongst its attractions are a children's playground, all weather hockey pitches, cricket pitch, bowling greens, putting green and tennis courts.

It also has a chain of small lakes providing wildfowl sanctuary with many interesting specimens and dry pens containing a large variety of exotic birds.

The Park is open all year round and is free to enjoy.

Free live music at the Bandstand usually takes place every Sunday in July and August, details and further summer activates to be announced closer to the time.

Where is Ward Park? How do I get there?

Ward Park is situated near Bangor town centre, on the eastern coast of Northern Ireland. It is a short walk from Bangor's main transport hub of train station and bus depot, providing easy transport from Belfast in roughly 20 minutes.

What is close to / available at Ward Park?

Ward Park has its own Parking (although this will be heavily restricted during concert times), and toilet facilities (likely to be supplemented during concerts). It is all wheelchair and disabled friendly.

Being closer to Bangor town centre, visitors have easy access to the marina and beaches for pleasant walks, a high street full of busy shops catering to all needs, a wide range of restaurants and pubs and many historical sites.

Within 5 minutes drive there is Bangor Cinema and Bangor Aurora Aquatic and Leisure Complex - a £38m facility offering an excellent choice of sporting and leisure activities.

Within 10 minutes drive there is Bloomfields Shopping Centre, a covered mall adjoining big-name supermarkets, with fashion, phone and gift stores plus fast food. There is also a McDonalds and Lidl close by.
