About

The famous Saltwater Brig pub and restaurant lies just outside Belfast, between Kircubbin and Portaferry, on the Ards Penninsula.
Established circa 1765, the “Brig” has been providing good food and craic on the shore of Strangford Lough ever since. We look forward to seeing you here at the “Brig” in the near future and you can be assured of a warm welcome whatever the weather.

The main bar is an open plan room with an 'L' shaped bar seating approx 70 people and is light and airy benefiting from ceiling windows and twin air purifiers. There are lots of original paintings and artifacts on the walls with Guinness memorabilia from all arts and parts giving a homely country bar feel. The dining room which seats approx 25 people is a semi private room which is ideal for family functions with waiter service available if required.

The games room with plasma screen, pool table, games and juke box etc is easily accessible from the main bar. The “snug” with its stove and bare stone walls has a rustic feel to it. Patrons are attracted here during the winter months as it’s hard to beat the warmth and cosiness of this homely room.

Extensive Gardens to the rear of the Brig are ideal for eating or drinking al fresco. An elevated view looks out over Strangford lough, and in summer food is available from the stone-wall barbeque. The Brig car park provides parking for coach parties as well as cars.

So if you fancy something nice to eat, give us a ring and we'll keep you a seat.
