Weave a Willow Berry Basket in the Walled Garden

About

August is berry season, when hedgerows are heavy with blackberries and gardens are bursting with strawberries, raspberries, gooseberries and blueberries. The countryside is at its most generous, inviting us to slow down and savour the abundance of late summer.

Why not join us on Sunday 9 August for our first ever Willow Berry Basket Workshop, where you'll spend a relaxing day immersed in the timeless craft of willow weaving within the beautiful heritage surroundings of the Walled Garden.

Under the expert guidance of Heather McDermott, you'll create your own beautifully handcrafted berry basket, perfect for gathering berries, herbs, flowers or the season's harvest. It's a practical basket you'll enjoy using for years to come and a lasting reminder of a day spent making something with your own hands.

Working with natural willow is wonderfully mindful, creative and rewarding. Whether you're trying willow weaving for the first time or looking to develop your skills, you'll leave with new techniques, newfound confidence and a beautiful handmade basket to treasure.

Your day includes expert tuition from Heather, all materials, morning and afternoon refreshments with homemade treats, and a delicious homemade lunch served in our Glasshouse.

Why not make a day of it with a friend, or surprise someone special? This workshop makes a thoughtful birthday gift or a memorable experience to share together.

Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
