Mark the changing season with an intimate Sound Spa Retreat inside the remarkable Temple of the Winds at Mount Stewart.
The Autumn Equinox marks a natural turning point in the year, when day and night come into balance. It offers an opportunity to pause, reflect on the season that has passed and create space before moving into the quieter months ahead.
Part of The Place to BE collection, this carefully curated experience brings together sound, heritage, landscape and seasonal reflection within one of Mount Stewart's most distinctive spaces.
Set within the Temple of the Winds, overlooking Strangford Lough, and limited to just 16 participants, the retreat offers an opportunity to slow down, rest and experience this extraordinary setting in a different way.
The Experience
The retreat begins with Tessa Ann's signature Sound Spa Experience inside the Temple of the Winds.
Settle into the space as live voice, singing bowls, gentle percussion and other carefully selected sounds unfold within the unique acoustic environment of the Temple.
Periods of sound and spacious stillness create time to pause, listen and experience the relationship between sound, space and your surroundings.
With minimal spoken guidance, you are invited to engage with the experience in your own way.
Following the Sound Spa Experience, there will be time to gently re-emerge before enjoying a light seasonal lunch prepared by the Mount Stewart team.
The experience concludes with time to wind down, reflect and enjoy the atmosphere of this remarkable setting.
Guests are also welcome to enjoy Mount Stewart's gardens following the retreat, offering an opportunity to extend your visit and experience the wider landscape at your own pace.
The Setting
The Temple of the Winds sits within the historic Mount Stewart demesne, overlooking Strangford Lough.
Its elevated position, architecture, natural surroundings and views across the lough make the setting an integral part of the experience.
The Temple is only occasionally open for public experiences, making this a distinctive opportunity to spend time inside the building in a small and intimate group.

No previous experience is required.
Please wear comfortable layered clothing appropriate for the season.
You may wish to bring a yoga mat, pillow and blanket to make yourself comfortable during the Sound Spa Experience.
Accessibility
The Temple of the Winds is located within the Mount Stewart trail network and is reached on foot through the estate.
Please be aware that access to and within the Temple includes steps, including narrow spiral steps.
If you have mobility or accessibility requirements, you are encouraged to contact Tessa Ann before booking so that you can discuss whether the experience and access arrangements will be suitable for you.
Sustainability
This small-group experience has been designed around an existing heritage environment, bringing together sound, place and landscape while encouraging slower and more mindful engagement with the surroundings.
By limiting the experience to 16 participants and working within the existing Mount Stewart environment, the retreat supports a low-impact approach to immersive experience delivery.

Tessa Ann is a sound artist and immersive experience creator based in Northern Ireland.
She is the founder of The Sound Healing Spa, creator of The Place to BE collection and developer of Sound Space Connect®, a framework exploring the relationship between sound, space, environment and human experience.
