Part of Shorelife Celebration
A storytelling journey inspired by the shores, waters and wild places around us.
Through stories led by local Author and Storyteller Marianne McShane, children will be invited to look closely at the world on their doorstep: the creatures that live in the water, the habitats along the shore, the plants and wildlife on land, and the birdlife that connects them all.
The stories will encourage children to think about their own place by the sea: what lives here, where it makes its home, how the land and water are connected, and how we share these places with the natural world.
Marianne McShane is a storyteller, children’s librarian and writer, born and raised on the shores of Belfast Lough. Her love of stories grew from a deep connection to the landscape, sea and rich storytelling traditions of County Down. Now living in Bangor, Marianne writes and tells stories inspired by the places around her, bringing together her love of storytelling, nature and the wild and familiar world of the shore and land.

This ticketed activiy is one element of the wider Shorelife Celebration. Overall the event runs from 10am to 5pm with lots of free and pre-bookable activities to enjoy.
