Irish Sailing Youth National Championships 2026 — Ballyholme Yacht Club, Bangor

Bangor is set to host one of Irish sailing's most prestigious youth competitions this April, as Ballyholme Yacht Club welcomes competitors from across Ireland and Great Britain for the Irish Sailing Youth National Championships 2026.

Taking place from Thursday 9 to Sunday 12 April, the championship will see between 160 and 200 young sailors aged 8 to 21 compete across four days of racing in Belfast Lough. Racing is scheduled to begin each day from 11:00 am, with up to three races per day across three separate courses, making for an exciting and action-packed event on the water.

The event is a wonderful opportunity for the local community to experience top-level youth sailing at one of Northern Ireland's most active and well-regarded yacht clubs. Spectators are welcome to watch proceedings from the seafront along Seacliff Road, which offers excellent views of the race area. Families, sailing enthusiasts, and curious passers-by alike are encouraged to come and support the next generation of Irish and British sailing talent.

Ballyholme Yacht Club is proud to be delivering this event as a Clean Regatta, reflecting its longstanding commitment to environmental responsibility. The club holds a Platinum Green Regattas Certificate, the Final Straw Certificate, and is a signatory to the Green Blue Pledge — ensuring the event is run with sustainability at its heart.

Car parking is available at the Kingsland car park and in the bays along Seacliff Road. Additional off-street parking can be found throughout Bangor town centre.

For further information about the event, including registration and the race programme, please visit Ballyholme Yacht Club's official channels or contact the club directly.
