About

*NEW TOUR FOR 2026*

Tour Guide: Laura Redfern

Tour departs on foot from Bangor City Hall

Walk the line where history ends and gossip begins, this guided tour uncovers the stories, secrets and scandals that shaped the town’s heart. Along the way, you will step into the world of Lady Maude Clanmorris at Bangor Castle, learn of Lí Ban – the legendary “Bangor mermaid” – and hear about Elizabeth Grey, whose name still echoes through local lore.

Expect a blend of solid historical fact, delicious fiction, family histories, and folklore set alongside whispered rumours, seaside gossip and the tales. From grand houses to hidden corners, this is the perfect tour for anyone who loves a good story told on the very streets where events unfolded.

The tour will finish at Jenny Watts bar and restaurant, why not make a day of it and stay in the city for lunch – Ticket holders can enjoy 10% discount off their food bill at Jenny Watts, on the day of the tour.
