Led by renowned County Down musician and set dance caller Oisín McCann, accompanied by live traditional musicians.
This lively, social set dancing session is open to all ages and abilities—no experience required. A brilliant opportunity to join in, have fun, and connect with others.
3:00 – 4:00 pm | Born to Dance - Lauren Smyth Academy of Dance
Newtownards’ own Riverdance principal dancer Lauren Smyth takes to the stage with her acclaimed dance school. Joined by her talented sisters, this promises an exciting hour of high-energy Irish dance.

4:15 – 5:00 pm | Songs from the Big Blue
A musical journey through traditional Irish and Scottish songs inspired by the sea.
Featuring classics such as Carrickfergus, The Water is Wide, The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond, and The Leaving of Liverpool.

5:15 – 5:45 pm | Dance Like Nobody’s Watching – Set Dancing (Open Session)
Oisín McCann and his musicians return for another inclusive and upbeat set dancing session.

6:00 – 7:00 pm | Young Stars of County Down | Ards Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCÉ)
Another opportunity to enjoy exceptional performances from talented young traditional musicians and dancers from across the region.
7:15 – 9:00 pm | The Hoolie Hootenanny (Grand Finale)
A lively, feel-good finale celebrating music, song, and dance.
- A 9-piece band featuring musicians from throughout the day
- Four lead singers delivering powerful, crowd-pleasing performances
- Special guest vocalists
- A unique blend of traditional and modern classics—including songs by Van Morrison, U2, Thin Lizzy, and Snow Patrol.
Special guest appearance by Willie Drennan on the Lambeg drum, joining an exciting mix of Uilleann pipes, Scottish pipes, whistles, bodhráns, and fiddles.
Hosted by compère Rebecca McKinney, who will guide the audience through this energetic closing celebration—encouraging participation, singalongs, and plenty of toe-tapping fun.
