About

Part of the Columbanus Festival 2026

An illuminating talk about the beautiful stained-glass windows illustrating Irish saints and some additional modern windows.

St Columbanus Church, Ballyholme, Bangor, is architecturally rich, being built from a unique stone taken from Roxborough Castle in Moy, Co Tyrone. There is a wonderful collection of stained-glass windows representing Irish Saints: Columbanus, Columba, Finnian, Comgall, Gall, Patrick, Brigid, Malachy and Brendan. As well as those featuring the Saints, there are several more modern windows to be enjoyed.  Learn about the history of the windows and what the images represent.  The tour will be given by qualified tour guide Adeline Cully and Jonny Watson, Curate at St Columbanus Church of Ireland, Ballyholme

Parking is available on the street in front of the church and behind Ballyholme Parish Centre which is accessible from Grove Park off the Donaghadee Road.
