About

Young Aviators Day

Hoping to inspire future aviators, the Ulster Flying Club are putting together a Young Aviators Day for ages 12-16. The event is a showcase for youth to get behind the controls and learn the basics of flying from our pool of certified instructors. Each participant will receive a 20-minute circuit flight.

The event is to stimulate interest in aviation and the application of STEM skills (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) taught in schools.

Primary Activities:
• Aircraft & Airport Tours
• Learn the basics of pre-flight checks
• From Private Pilots Licence to Commercial Pilots Licence
• Weather Challenges
• Meet the Instructors
• Day in the life of a Commercial Pilot
• 20-minute trial flight (permission needed from a parent/guardian)
• Guest Speakers
• Networking
• Certificate of attendance
The Young Aviators Day will be a transformative experience, providing a platform for building confidence and fostering a sense of camaraderie among like-minded young enthusiasts.

It is a great opportunity for these aspiring aviators to connect with their peers who share the same passion for flight and aircraft.

Throughout the event, participants will gain insights into the practical steps involved in turning their aviation dreams into reality. They will meet professionals who will help them understand the journey ahead.

The day will be packed with excitement – this is a must-attend event priced at £150 per person with a lunch provided. The timings will be 10:00 to 16:00. We are considering hosting this event March, April & July (depending on the number of enrolments).

If the sky and aircraft ignite your child's enthusiasm, then the next step is to to request an application form to enrol.

Please note this event will only take place based on the number of enrolments we receive.
