About

The rocky coastline from the Eisenhower Pier to Kingsland is one of the most rewarding drives and walks in the Ards and North Down borough. Start from Tower House, (Bangor Visitor Information Centre), taking the Seacliff Road past The Long Hole. This is a naturally well protected basin which was in Victorian Times the winter berth of two of the famous Bangor Boats, paddle steamers which made daily round trips from Belfast.

As you approach the landscaped area of Kingsland the impressive building of the Royal Ulster Yacht Club House can be seen overlooking Ballyholme Bay. At Kingsland itself you will find Ballyholme Yacht Club. Ballyholme Bay has witnessed many internationally recognised boating competitions.

The public park and play areas have a challenging pitch and putt course, tennis courts, children's playground and putting greens alongside the 120 space car park and picnic area.
