Tour guides from Dander Down and actors from Bangor Abbey Players join forces to bring to life characters from the past in this living history guided tour of Bangor Abbey and its cemetery. Meet the champion swimmer, the sea captain’s mother, and the rebel’s sister to name but a few.

To end a successful summer season of walking tours, and with an exciting way to start a week of European Heritage Open Days, tour guides from Dander Down will be joined by actors from Bangor Abbey Players in a living history walking tour.

We will step back in time as the actors bring history to life in this unique guided tour of Bangor Abbey and its cemetery.

This is an event for all the family to hear the reimagined lives and stories of some of the people who contributed to the rich and varied history of Bangor through the skill of the actors.

Doors open 15 minutes before each performance which will begin inside the church. Parking is available in the church car park which is entered from Abbey Street.

As this is mainly an outdoor event, please wear weather appropriate clothing and as the ground in the graveyard is very uneven, sensible footwear is recommended.

The event will only be cancelled due to severe weather warnings, new Government Covid-19 restrictions, or unforeseen circumstances.
