Please note, these events took place in July 2023. These are some of the activities that took place. Keep an eye on this page for exciting details of the 2024 events.

 

Each Sunday there will be activity between 2pm – 4pm, please see below for details on this month's programme. We hope you can come along and enjoy an afternoon with us!

Sunday 2 July
Join the animals from Blackberry Farm as the Country come to the Seaside for the afternoon. This petting farm will bring bundles of fluff and cuteness to Groomsport.

Sunday 9 July
Children embrace their inner artist with some traditional crafts by Kathleen's Attic while you relax and listen to Piping and Drumming from Grahame Harris and Lee Lawson. Highland Dancers will also be performing with Demi Walker's School of Dance (in association with the Ulster Scots Agency.)

Sunday 16 July
'Argh me Hearties'… Join Babcock and Bobbins the circus pirates for a fun filled afternoon by the sea! Why not let the little ones dress as a pirate and enjoy some children's crafts.

Sunday 23 July
Is it a bird… is it a plane? No… it's a T-Rex and friends!! Don't be afraid it's only Jurassic Hire coming to visit Cockle Row with their amazing Dinosaurs!

Sunday 30 July
Today is all about the nature at Cockle Row. Explore the shore with local Bird Expert Dot Blakely on a mini tour (at 11.30am or 12.30pm) hunting out bird food!
In the afternoon join Artist Adele Pound for open-air sketching of the beautiful landscape or some of the creatures that call this place home.

 

The Cottages are open Thursday - Sunday from 11am - 5pm throughout the summer, there is an exhibition, gift shop and visitor information on site.
Also, on Thursdays in July, Christine of Kiri Cottage Crafts will be demonstrating how to make soda bread, 2pm-4pm.
