Sustainable Willow Obelisk Making

The Walled Garden Helen's Bay, Craigdarragh Road, Helen's Bay

Make your own sustainable, willow, obelisk in the Walled Garden and use it to support your garden climbing plants such as roses, clematis sweet peas, beans and nasturtiums.
Your tutor Heather McDermott will walk you to our very own Saille garden and teach you how to select, grade and dry willow rods as well as all the history myth and folklore associated with this wonderful shrub.
Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, Heather and her assistant, Naomi, will support you throughout the workshop giving you step by step instruction to create a creation to be truly proud of. Written information will also be provided for you to keep.
As the workshop will last approximately five - six hours, morning coffee with scones and a delicious homemade lunch and will be provided to fuel your creativity.

- Over 18's only
- This experience will be held both indoors and outdoors so please dress appropriately.

Bangor Brunch Round the World Recovery Tour

Had heavy weekend? Join Hit the Road Tours for a three hour tour showcasing some of Bangor's best brunch spots. This fun walking tour will incorporate a fabulous menu from around the world and closer to home and Brian will also tell you stories of this wonderful place as you move between each location.

- Over 18's only
- This walk is described as moderate. Please dress for the weather with comfortable shoes.

Farmhouse Feast will get all the senses tingling this spring! As a Sustainable Giant Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen has the environment at its heart and you will create a feast from not only local produce but ingredients that have been grown with love on the shores of Strangford Lough. Visit the vegetable plot, filling your baskets with the
freshest ingredients to create your plot to plate feast. Join Tracey in her beautiful outdoor kitchen, don your apron and pull up your sleeves as you help prep and cook a tasty lunch Alfresco! Hear the history of the area and the wonders of the lough as you relax and enjoy your farmhouse feast lunch. Don't miss this special pilot experience at Tracey’s Farmhouse Kitchen, this will be a taste of Ards and North Down not to be missed!

- All equipment provided, dress for outdoors as cooking is alfresco.
