Join local landscape artist Jenni Robinson for an immersive day of art, based around the beautiful Walled Garden in Bangor.

You will meet at Boom! Studios for a relaxing tea/traybake, receive your sketching pack and some basic drawing tuition, before moving to the Bangor Castle Walled Garden for a morning of sketching.  The gardens will be in full bloom and there will be a wonderful array of botanicals to study, as well as the garden structures and sculptures of the annual ForM exhibition.  The garden is approximately 15 minutes walk from the studio.

Full of inspiration, you will return to Boom! for a delicious deli-style focaccia sandwich and treat, supplied by Lightfoot Bangor, local zero-waste market.

The afternoon will take place in the workshop at Boom! Studios, starting with some discussion around composition and mark-making, before painting a mini canvas board in acrylics, based on your sketches and photos from the morning session.

All materials are included, and the sketching kit is yours to keep.  It is recommended you bring a camera, ideally on a smart phone or tablet, if you would like to capture some more inspiration to work from alongside your drawings in the afternoon.

This is a small group, enabling flexible tuition.  Less experienced artists can be guided throughout their work, whereas more experienced artists may benefit from experimenting with sketchbook use in their existing practice. Creative individuality is thoroughly encouraged!
