About
The programmes have gathered a cult following due to their slow, contemplative style capturing not only ways of life being lost, but a style of television film making rarely seen today.
The two episodes we will be screening are:
Irish Embroidery – The narrator of this episode and former curator of the museum, Linda Ballard, will be introducing the film.
Wexford Thatcher – This episode will be introduced by thatcher David McFerran who will place the film in context of the state of thatching in Ireland today.
The Ulster Folk Museum is a living outdoor museum home to rich collection of heritage buildings and objects which it uses to preserve and demonstrate traditions, stories and skills passed down through many generations of people in Ulster. The films will be screened in our original 1900s Picture House, and you'll be able to arrive before or after the event to enjoy and explore the museum.
