About Portaferry Art Society

Portaferry Art Society, founded in 1975, is located in the scenic town of Portaferry. It has grown and developed over many years into the vibrant, inclusive society it now is and celebrated its 50th Anniversary last year. Artists enjoy painting and creating art inspired by the area in which they live. Currently 40 members work across a wide variety of mediums, sharing skills, knowledge and enthusiasm and creating art, influenced by the dramatic landscape of the Peninsula and beyond.

In addition to Spring and Autumn Exhibitions, the Christmas Art and Craft Fair is held in Portaferry Market House the first Friday and Saturday in December.

The annual Portaferry Plein Air Festival in May is hugely popular and attracts artists and tutors from across Ireland.
