About
Lurig Drama Group presents "Ottilie" written and directed by Philip Johnston.
Ottilie Patterson, born in Comber, County Down, has been called the greatest of all British Blues singers and achieved international success singing with the Chris Barber Band. She shared the stage with many of the greats of Blues and Jazz including: Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Her life was one of unbelievable highs and traumatic lows, but she blazed the trail for those who came after her.
The dramatised reading, exploring the extraordinary life of Ottilie, will be performed by Rosaleen Agnew, a local talented actress with Lurig Drama Group.
