About

Part of the Columbanus Festival 2025 | Tickets on sale soon!

Award winning singers and songwriters Rachel McCarthy and David Lennon, along with the Bangor Ghost Collective, present a uniquely curated evening of ancient words, songs, and music celebrating place.

In the mid-6th century, Comgall established a monastery in Bangor where his prodigy, Columbanus, served as a priest and master of the school. Through the work of the monks who lived there, Bangor became a very important and influential place for religion, learning, writing, and art. This tradition has carried on through the centuries and Bangor has continued to be home to clergy, writers, scholars, artists, singers, songwriters, and musicians.  Through stories, poetry, music and song, the Bangor’s Ghost collective will focus on some of Bangor’s famous sons and daughters.

Free parking is available at the Bangor Abbey car park.
