Bangor Drama Club: The Prof by Michael Ievers

This dynamic new play tells the story of women through the barricades on the fiftieth anniversary of the Ulster Workers’ strike.

The Prof is set in Belfast during the early years of ‘The Troubles’.  It is based on a true story of a failing shirt factory that was transformed by the arrival of a professor from Queen’s University, that during the Ulster Workers’ Council strike in 1974, the women of the shirt factory repeatedly breached the barricades to keep the factory going.
