Overlooking Bangor Marina is Bregenz House, headquarters of the Coast Guard.
Bregenz House is part of the Columban Way, a heritage trail between Comber and Bangor covering 20 miles (32 km). Overlooking Bangor Marina is Bregenz House, headquarters of the Coast Guard. The building is named after Bangor’s twin-town in Austria where a monastery was founded by St Columbanus c.611 AD. Columbanus who studied at Bangor Abbey under St Comgall, left Bangor in 591AD to spread Christianity in Europe.
