Together, Clandeboye Lodge and Henderson Foodservice have delivered nearly £2000 worth of food to the local charity foodbank, Storehouse North Down with grateful appreciation to all those guests who also supported the donation through the Clandeboye Lodge gift voucher campaign over Christmas and New Year.

Food Poverty has been highlighted in the media recently with the added impact of the Covid-19 crisis being felt by so many in our local community.

Pim Dalm, Managing Director of the Clandeboye Lodge commented, ‘This year we were keen to support a local community project and the fight against food poverty was at the top of our list and so we approached Storehouse North Down. We were shocked when they advised us just how many families in this area are struggling to feed themselves and their families at this time – we knew then we wanted to help them’.

He continued, ‘We were very pleased to bring on board Henderson Foodservice to help double our efforts against this growing crisis and are delighted to be able to deliver nearly £2000 worth of food goods today’.

Margaret Bailie, Chairperson of Storehouse North Down said ’Last year we gave out £120,000 worth of food in hampers to local families and the numbers of families requiring our service is increasing in 2021 as this pandemic continues. That’s a demand of approximately £10,000 worth of food every month. We would not be able to help so many families without the support of local businesses like the Clandeboye Lodge’.

Michael Lappin, Business Development Manager, Henderson Foodservice added; ‘Its fantastic to see first hand the work that Storehouse North Down are doing and its excellent that Pim and the Clandeboye Lodge team are behind such a worthy cause, we’re really pleased to be involved and be able to help’.
