About

Founded in 2001 by acclaimed pianist Barry Douglas, the Clandeboye Festival has become a highlight of Northern Ireland's cultural calendar.  2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the festival, presented in the historic surroundings of the Clandeboye Estate in County Down.

Taking place from 22–29 August, this special anniversary programme celebrates the alumni of the Camerata Ireland Academy, with every concert featuring outstanding musicians who have been part of the programme over the years.

Over eight days, the festival presents 13 lunchtime and evening concerts, offering something for everyone. Highlights include three performances by Camerata Ireland — an orchestra drawing musicians from across the island of Ireland — featuring soloists Barry Douglas (piano), Mairéad Hickey (violin), and Ed Creedon (viola); a piano recital by Barry Douglas marking the 40th anniversary of his gold medal win at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1986; a family concert; and a rich selection of chamber music by Mozart, Brahms, Beethoven, Schubert, and more!

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Clandeboye Estate, this 25th anniversary festival is a rare chance to experience world-class music in one of Northern Ireland's most atmospheric settings. Don't miss it.
