The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Northern Ireland Branch (RSPBANI) and Ards and North Down Borough Council are pleased to announce that the annual Ards and North Down Pipe Band and Drum Major Championships will be located at Newtownards Airfield this year. 

This free to attend event always makes for a fantastic day out. The impressive showcase of sound and colour fills the air and is a delight to the eyes.

Friendly competition creates a really enjoyable atmosphere for all.

Please note that the event site entrance is at the Comber Road entrance to Newtownards Airfield. 

 

Event site - Useful information

On site parking | Free parking on site. Accessible parking too. Access from Comber Road, gates open at 8am.

Accessibility | Viewing areas are all flat surfaces on hard concrete. (Competition rings are on grass)  Accessible toilets and parking are available.

Dogs  | Are permitted, to remain on lead at all times. Please dispose of any dog mess responsibly.

Sustainability | Ards and North Down Borough Council is committed to reducing our carbon footprint. We encourage visitors to travel via public transport, bring along reusable bags to pick up goodies at the event and to dispose of your rubbish in the correct bins when on-site.

Recycling | There will be two central locations to recycle your waste. Please help us continue our sustainability commitment to zero contamination at events.

Road Directions

By car - Follow directional road signs to Newtownards, then Ards Airfield. Please note that the event site entrance is at the Comber Road entrance to Newtownards Airfield. 

Free park and ride buses for this event will run between Newtownards town and  the Ards Airfield event site providing the opportunity to spend time in the town centre for a bit of shopping or a bite to eat.
