About

Established by Adrienne Stuart in 1985, Gransha Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved riding school and livery yard set in 42 beautiful acres between Bangor, Newtownards and Donaghadee where everyone with an equestrian interest is made welcome, whether beginner, advanced, competitive or leisure rider.

Our facilities include 2 large indoor arenas, the amazing new Antwerp Arena is 72m x 24m and is bright and airy with a superb Martin Collins surface, a horsewalker, and 30 jump cross country course. The All Weather Derby Arena has a superb water complex and sunken lane.

The 40 livery stables benefit from around the clock staffing.

Meet our main instructors. Alison Barr BHSAI, has 40 years experience and specialises in teaching riders from beginner level up, on our very special riding school horses and ponies.

Kirsty and Courtney Stuart who are members of the Elite Irish Talent Development squad, trained originally in England and have notched up many wins nationally and internationally. Kirsty BHSII evented to international level as a junior and is now concentrating on Dressage while producing and training young horses to advanced level. Courtney travelled to California to train with Jan Eibling, one of the 2010 American Olympic Dressage team, which has given her the desire and knowledge to compete at the highest level. She won the All Ireland Under 25’s Silver Spurs Championship in 2013, and with her very talented horse, Fanfarron, is competing with the top dressage riders in Ireland.
Both the Stuart Sisters are keen to share their knowledge and coach enthusiastic riders and help them move up the competition ladder in all disciplines, dressage, showing and jumping.

The Gransha Team runs a wide range of events, from fun days and pony camps to national competitions and training days.

So from the horse-intrigued, to the horse-obsessed, come visit us at Gransha, you don’t know where it could take you.
