23rd April 2026

Coq & Bull, the renowned brasserie at Clandeboye Lodge in Bangor, has expanded its offering with the launch of its new Garden Room - a space that reflects the growing demand for indoor-outdoor hospitality and experience-led dining. The £450,000 investment adds 48 additional covers and introduces a space designed to change throughout the day, from morning coffee and slow lunches to intimate evening dining and private occasions.
The new space marks a natural development for the popular dining destination, which has built a loyal following for its “good, honest food” philosophy, warm hospitality and strong commitment to locally sourced ingredients.
Coq & Bull guests can now choose between two distinctive dining spaces. The Brasserie remains the vibrant heart - lively, welcoming and effortlessly stylish - while the Garden Room introduces a more relaxed, elegant setting perfect for morning coffee, lunch, dinner and private hire.
The Garden Room was architecturally designed by Warwick Architects and the interiors designed by 21 Spaces, who have been the creative force behind the recently completed 5-year refurbishment programme at Clandeboye Lodge.
Flooded with natural light from glazing on three sides and an expansive glass roof lantern above, the Garden Room feels bright and airy by day, transitioning to a warm, intimate atmosphere by evening.
Beyond the interior, ParkHood landscape architects have created a garden featuring over 700 plants, yew trees and beech spheres which surround the Garden Room to provide a serene backdrop that evolves with the seasons.
Pim Dalm, Managing Director of Clandeboye Lodge, said: “We are committed to continually investing in and enhancing what we offer at Clandeboye Lodge, with every decision focused on delivering the very best guest experience. The continued popularity of the Coq & Bull brasserie, along with its strong local support, has fully justified this £450,000 investment in the Garden Room.”
Guests dining in the Garden Room can enjoy the same carefully curated menu and eclectic wine list as the Brasserie, showcasing the finest local, seasonal produce.
Coq & Bull is also proud to be Taste of Ulster 2026 accredited, reflecting its continued commitment to quality and local sourcing.
