Closer Than You Think: Ards and North Down Borough Council unveils vibrant spring campaign

Ards and North Down Borough Council has launched its spring campaign, Closer Than You Think, celebrating the breathtaking landscapes, unique experiences, and unforgettable memories that await visitors this season, while boosting local tourism and hospitality.

Building on the success of the Autumn 2025 campaign, the council is shining a spotlight on the city of Bangor, the charming towns of Holywood, Donaghadee, Comber and Newtownards, as well as the coastal pocket of the Ards Peninsula and Strangford Lough. Highlighting the variety of attractions and hospitality options available, from scenic coastal walks and tranquil countryside escapes to vibrant events and tasty dining, inviting visitors to discover the beauty, culture, and adventure that make Ards and North Down a must-see destination.

Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Gillian McCollum, said:

“Spring is a special time for us, and we’re excited to launch our Council’s spring campaign and officially kickstart the tourism season.

“Closer Than You Think captures the spirit of the season and reminds everyone that memorable moments and new discoveries are waiting right here in Ards and North Down.

“Destination awareness campaigns like this showcase the region and play a vital role in stimulating demand, boosting footfall, and driving economic growth by encouraging people to book a great-value short break here. We aim to inspire visitors to shop, dine, explore, and enjoy everything this beautiful Borough has to offer.”

The multi-channel rollout will run until 2^nd April, using a range of advertising including digital, social media, radio, print, and outdoor formats, reaching audiences across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Great Britain.
