Italian Journalists Discover Bangor’s Christian Heritage

Two leading Italian travel writers have been exploring Bangor, Northern Ireland, as part of a Tourism Northern Ireland press trip, uncovering the city and surrounding area's unique links to St Columbanus and its importance in European Christian heritage.

Lucia Galli and Luca Pelagatti, contributors to Gazzetta di Parma and Travelfar.IT, spent five days experiencing the region, with the City of Bangor and its cultural attractions at the heart of their itinerary.
Bangor tourism highlights on the trip included:
During their time in Ards and North Down, the Council highlighted historic landmarks as well as local tourism and hospitality providers. The visit is expected to generate valuable media coverage across Italian travel and cultural publications, raising awareness of Bangor tourism and inspiring new overseas visitors to explore Northern Ireland’s rich heritage trails.
