Learn about local marine conservation at Northern Ireland’s only aquarium and seal sanctuary. Enjoy an Under the Sea experience tunnel where you will encounter seals rescued from around the coastline. Meet playful otters and charming penguins.

Queen’s University has a marine research laboratory in Portaferry which is a centre of excellence for international scientific research. Learn about the exciting and innovative renewable energy research projects that have been undertaken in Strangford Lough. It has been awarded UNESCO Global Geopark status.
Drink in the beauty all around you as you join local storyteller, guide and environmentalist, Brigid Watson for an engaging and entertaining walking tour around the town.

After lunch you will board a luxury coach for a drive along the stunningly beautiful Irish Sea coast from Portaferry to Belfast in the company of local guide Brigid Watson of Sustainable Journeys Ireland. Brigid will ‘read the landscape’ for you and bring it alive with stories about the local environment and people, past and present. Enjoy some craic along the way!
There will be a stop-off in the popular coastal town of Donaghadee.
Your final destination will be Belfast City.
