A gig that was 9 years in the making, Ward Park 3 was a huge success!
With 35,000 fans attending, Gary Lightbody and Snow Patrol insisted that only Northern Irish bands play and crowds were amazed at the home grown talent.
Frontman Gary Lightbody said: “Can we take a minute to appreciate the acts on the bill today? Every single one of them from our wee country"
“The music scene in Northern Ireland at the moment is absolutely amazing and it’s to be celebrated.”

Gary Lightbody announced to the crowd “This has been a day celebrating northern Irish music and we wanted to pay homage to the great music of the Republic of Ireland as well” which was when Snow Patrol revealed their special guest, Bono from U2! Together they performed a duet of the U2 song 'One' to awestruck fans.
Whilst the band have not ruled out a Ward Park 4, live music will return to Ward Park this Summer during the Summer Sundays campaign, featuring live music at the bandstand on Sundays throughout July and August
