About

We're embracing the make do and mend sensibility of the past, embodying a zero-waste approach, with our Christmas Rag Wreath making workshop on Saturday 18th November.

Make a beautiful Christmas wreath that you can bring home and use for years to come. Get inspired by the furnishings of our exhibit buildings settled in the Ulster Folk Museum, the rag rugs, the bedcovers, and the contents of the draper's shops, as you look for colours and textures to work into your fabric wreath. Learn how people of the past re-used textiles to make rugs, decorations and more before you settle down before the fire with a mince pie and make your own wreath using strips of textiles.

Materials will be provided and in the spirit of the event we encourage you to bring any old textiles that you'd like to add into your wreath - think old Christmas pyjamas and fabrics that will otherwise be going to waste!

What to know
• Please note your ticket to our Christmas Rag Wreath workshop includes access to the Folk Museum for the day, so please feel free to come before the workshop and explore.
• This workshop is for ages 16+ and has limited capacity so early booking recommended.
