Join Tour Guide John Murray and take time away from the fast pace of everyday life and enjoy the splendour of Strangford Loughs scenery and fascinating wildlife. See where St Patrick first came ashore, view landscapes used in "Game of Thrones" filming and a whole lot more!

Make a day of it and have lunch in one of the eateries in this picturesque village overlooking the waters of the lough.


Things to note
No concessions.

Those aged under 18 yrs must be accompanied by a paying adult and also purchase a full price ticket.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the boat trip.

The St Brendan does not have toilet facilities onboard. The nearest public toilet is a kiosk located near Exploris Aquarium.

Tickets close 24 hrs before activity.


Getting there

By Car:  Belfast follow the A20 to Newtownards.  Follow the A20 along Kempe Stones Road to Newtownards.  At the roundabout take the 3rd exit along Blair Mayne Road South.  Take exits towards the Portaferry Road. Continue along the Portaferry Road for approx.20miles following the road signs towards Portaferry.  Continue through Portaferry Town, turn right onto Shore Road. The harbour is located on the Shore Rd, Portaferry, Newtownards BT22 1JZ. Parking available at the Rope Walk car park near Exploris Aquarium.

By Bus: See Translink NI website for bus departure and arrival times.

By car or foot via the Strangford Ferry that services between Stangford and Portaferry.

Where practicable providers within the Experience Programme will aim to accommodate carers and be as inclusive as possible. With such a diverse range of activities, operated by a number of providers, it is necessary for this to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
