Christmas at Cultra

About

Get festive this December at Ulster Folk Museum and soak up the seasonal sights and smells of a traditional, rural Christmas from over 100 years ago.

Stroll through the cobbled stone streets of Ulster Folk Museum this Christmas and visit our exhibit houses, bedecked in traditional festive decorations. See how traditional Christmas decorations are made and take home a craft bag so you can make your very own orange pomander to hang on your Christmas tree.

Visit Tea Lane to experience how Christmas was celebrated in years gone by and stop by the Bank Manager's home to see what a much grander Christmas celebration would have been like 100 years ago. Sample some seasonal treats like traditional Christmas fayre and don't forget to call into the pub so you can enjoy some festive mulled wine!

Bring along your letter to Father Christmas and post it in our very own Post Office. The postmaster might need some help with a problem he's been having this year, since a gust of wind blew some letters out of his hands! Can you follow his trail and help our postmaster find the missing letters?
Wrap up warm so you can take a stroll along the country lanes of our rural museum and call into our Corradreenan Farm House. Step back in time and soak up the seasonal sights and smells of a rural Christmas from over 100 years ago with traditional peat fires, oil lamps and Christmas puddings, baked over the fire.

Leave time for refreshments and a visit to Ballycultra Tearooms where you can treat the family to our favourite seasonal delicacies. Don't forget to stop by our gift shop and pick up any last minute Christmas gifts!
