About

Part of Experience Ards and North Down 2023. Click here to see the full programme.

A one day, and an optional second day, experience for those with an interest in ceramics and nature. The  second workshop will see you through to completion by decorating the fired ceramic piece you created in workshop 1/Day 1.

Day 1, Friday 4 August: 10am–3pm
This experience begins with morning tea/coffee, drinking in the breathtaking views of Strangford Lough and Scrabo Tower silhouetted on the horizon seen from the café at WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre

Guests will then be taught how to create a stunning ceramic relief of the view in front of them by artist Sharon Regan. They will be shown simple methods to create a professional result by layering background, foreground and birds they observe to create a journey for the eye within the finished piece. After the experience finishes there is an opportunity to visit the wildlife reserve and connect with nature.

Day 2, Friday 11 August (Optional): 10am–3pm
The reliefs have now been fired and during this session participants will be guided through the
decoration of their piece.
There will be the option of how to decorate with acrylics if participants want to take home their piece at the end of the day and another option if they would like their piece glazed, which would then be collected one week later.

There are various ticket options for this experience:
1 DAY ONLY, PLUS POSTAGE TO UK | £45 PER PERSON (workshop only)
