Bangor Drama Club presents their One-Act Drama Festival 2024, taking place over three evenings - 24 October to 26 October.

Individual tickets for each day can be purchased or you may wish to avail of the Season Ticket which covers all three evening (Details below).

 

Thu 24th October 2024

Castleblayney Players (Monaghan) presents Chook Chook by Fiona Farrell
In a battery farm for hens, Valmai, Chrissy, Georgia and Bron refer to their cages as compartments and eat the same food day after day under the same continuous sun.

Theatre 3 Newtownabbey presents Perchance to Dream by David McCann
A reinterpretation of Joseph Merrick's story, as seen through the eyes of Sir Frederick Treves, providing a fresh and introspective perspective on one of history's most poignant relationships. 
DRAMA

Coachford Players (Co. Cork) presents Sinking by Les Clarke
Jessica is tidying the house before the benefits officer comes. She worries if she doesn’t do everything right, their benefits will be cut off, and Paulie isn’t the most helpful person when it comes to giving a hand!

Letterkenny Music & Drama Group - Cider Park by Kieran Kelly
Are any of us unique? Is anything we say or do truly original? JP and Georgie muse philosophically as they sup their cans. Joined by Ritchie they are forced to confront their past, present and future as they finally come to understand what it means to be human.

Bailieborough Drama Group (Cavan) - Dying Minutes by Liz O’Hanlon
Set in a pub on a Monday morning, we get a glimpse into the world of the self-proclaimed misfits. We laugh with them, we empathise with them, we may even recognise them.

Bart Players (Belfast) - Visitor from Mamaroneck by Neil Simon
By turns both hilarious and heart-breaking, Karen does her best to save her marriage at the Plaza Hotel with champagne and hors d’oeuvres – but no anchovies!

Set against the backdrop of a wintry Montana, three convicts plan to break out of a penitentiary by scaling a Christmas tree and jumping the prison wall. But things don’t go to plan…

Lucan Drama (Dublin) present Mary Mary by Bruce Adam
Confusion reigns when Terry brings a new woman named Mary home to meet his mother, also called Mary. Little does he suspect his mother has already invited his colleague, Mary, round in the hopes of setting her up with her son. 
COMEDY

Rosemary Drama Group (Belfast) present Elegy for Georgie by Seamus Steele
A hillside overlooking the city on a sunny afternoon. A man sits eating lunch while reading. Soon his quiet sojourn is disturbed by a younger man, who appears to be recording a film… But is this the real reason he has appeared?

Please note

On-street parking is available or a car park is available nearby at ASDA and is free after 6pm.

Studio 1A is now licensed and the theatre bar will be open for 30 minutes prior to the event, at the interval and for 30 minutes after the performance.
