About

The much-loved Ards International Guitar Festival is BACK for it's 27th year and will rock into Newtownards from 19 - 23 April 2023!

For guitar and music lovers everywhere, this year's Festival is jam packed with slap tapping, plectrum plucking, foot stompin' gee-tar playing to suit everyone's taste!

This year's line-up features home-grown talent as well as performers from Germany, the Netherlands, and Iran, all assembled with the help of guest programmer Anthony Toner Music.
From live gigs to Guitar Clinics and interviews, guitar fans will be spoiled for choice.

Featuring internationally renowned musicians such as the fantastic Dom Martin and an all-female line-up with Karlijn Langendijk, Judith Beckedorf and Sophie Chassée, we also have performances from the wonderful Aquarelle Guitar Quartet, Rodney Branigan, Jim Mullen Trio, Ben Prevo Band, Cup O'Joe, Brian Keenan and The Classical Guitar Society of Northern Ireland, Comedy Classics Soundtracks with Neil Ó Briain and Paul McMordie, performances from local artists Ben Cutler and Matthew Malcolm Music, Shiva Badiei, and little kids will love music from Kyle Riley!

Ralph McLean is back with his popular Classic Album Brunch, this year featuring one of the greatest rock albums of all time.. Fleetwood Mac's Rumours! And don't miss Ralph in conversation with one of the most distinctive and revered luthiers in the world - George Lowden of Lowden Guitars!
