Walking Tour presented by Dander Down: Castlereagh Life & Legacy

Newtownards Priory, Court Square, Newtownards, Down, BT23 7FM
Newtownards Priory

About

As we commemorate the 200th anniversary of the death of Robert Stewart, Lord Castlereagh, join us as we journey back in time on a specially commissioned walking tour.

Through a living history production presented by Dander Down, you will be transported through the years to the beginnings of the town of Newtownards.

Hear how the Londonderry's of Mount Stewart influenced the layout of the town we know today.

Be amazed at the contribution to European peace that Lord Castlereagh made. A man so revered that a statue to him was erected in Westminster Abbey after his death in 1822.

Misunderstood by some yet called a genius, a great diplomat, and an enlightened thinker by others.

Enjoy an animated afternoon on foot to hear the true story of the Londonderry's and the remarkable Robert Stewart, Lord Castlereagh.
