New beginnings for Echlinville Distillery, officially opening in February 2016.
Distillery, whiskey tours, groups
Construction of the new still house at Northern Ireland’s first licenced distillery in over 125 years has been completed.
Impressive state of the art equipment is newly housed within a superb structure that has been purpose built to display the beauty of the pot stills and rectifying columns. The glass structure of the building not only showcases the craftsmanship of the equipment but also opens up the picturesque views of the surrounding countryside.
The custom crafted distillery system offers precision and flexibility and the exceptional design and engineering afford Echlinville the unique opportunity to produce any spirit. In recent days Echlinville made history by drawing their first neutral grain spirit from the stills at 96.5% ABV. A neutral spirit so pure it could well be the basis of Echlinville’s premium vodka, watch this space…
This new facility has significantly up scaled production capacity for the company including an extensive maturation hall as well as bottling and storage facilities.
Echlinville Distillery Managing Director Shane Braniff says: “At Echlinville our aim is to produce a premium high quality whiskey using barley grown and malted on the family farm. We strive to control the process from raw materials in the field, to the final drop reaching the glass affording us total traceability and authenticity. Our whiskey is produced by a passionate team committed to achieving excellence.”
“Our extraordinary new still house is not only a functional space for production but can easily lend itself to entertaining guests and our tours can offer a real insight into the workings of an operational distillery.”
