The Convention started in 1937 and seeks to promote and support Christian Missionary work across the world. While there are one or two events in the UK with a similar emphasis there are none which run beyond a few days over a weekend and so we can reasonably claim to be the largest event of this type in the UK. One of our regular speakers would argue that we are unique in Europe.
Each week day morning we have Bible study teaching at 11.30am, this year led by Rev Dr Trevor Morrow, a former Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Our evening meetings are at 7.30pm where our speakers will talk about various situations they are involved with around the world.
There will be a ladies event on Thursday afternoon, an event for children on Saturday morning and a student’s event on Friday night. There is a Mission Exhibition and we advertise the Council’s Christian Heritage Walk.
The Conference takes place in Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church. There is adequate parking in nearby car parks.
This is a Grant Aided event
